The idea to start a blog originally came from Vlades. He wanted to have a place to spread Metal, to voice his opinions and to practice his writing. After a few failed attempts, Vlades gave up… until he read Steff Metal and was inspired to give another try. This time, however, he would have a co-writer to maintain the site. Vlades met Ricky in a small high school tucked away in Northern India, though they were only together for a year. Since Ricky’s timely conversion to Metal under Vlades’s tutelage, the topic of choice between the two has always been–and always will be–Metal, and different aspects of it. After Vlade’s proposed the idea of a Metal blog to Ricky, the latter was all for it. And now, this is what we have.
What does “Jötunn” mean?
The Jötnar–a group of Jötunn–are giants in Nordic mythology. They dwell in Jötunheimr, and are generally in conflict with the Gods, that is, Thor, Odin and the rest who live is Asgard. They also like attacking humans who inhabit Midgard. Perhaps the most famous of all Jötunn is King Thrym, who stole Thor’s hammer–and took all his power in doing so–in order to have a weapon of blackmail. His intent was to marry Freyja, a goddess generally associated with love, beauty, fertility, war and death.
